The Highway 60 Corridor is one of the best places for wildlife viewing and more moose are seen each year right along Highway 60 than in all of the backcountry. Some animals (particularly moose) are actually attracted to the highway at certain times of the year. Algonquin offers 7,725 sq km of semi-wilderness, complete with forests, hundreds of lakes, rivers and hiking trails. It's scenery is famous as the backdrop for many Group of Seven artists paintings and very popular with landscape photographers and artists.
