GRIZZLY BEARS -ICE BEARS PHOTO WORKSHOP

This unique private adventure is ideal for any bear and wildlife photographer. We have exclusive use of this camp, with a total of only 6 people maximum, including staff.  You will see and photograph amazing bear activity in a snowy setting. Fishing and swimming bears catching salmon.  Be sure to bring that 70-200mm lens as you will have the opportunity to be just a few feet from male and female grizzly bears. You may also have the opportunity to photograph mother bears with cubs. In addition we have a good chance of seeing and photographing wolves.

The chum salmon draw the grizzly bears to the lodge area. To help prepare for hibernation, these magnificent giants of the forest take advantage this abundant food supply.

Every fall in the shadows of the craggy mountains, as many as 40 grizzly bears ramble along the river’s banks taking their limit of chum salmon that have travelled thousands of miles from the Bering Sea to spawn and die. By mid October, winter settles in and the elements transform the grizzlies into “ice bears”.

Price: $14899 USD - Deposit - non refundable per lodge policy of $3000 USD

Nestled deep in the northern Yukon wilderness is an incredible place on a river that you just have to experience to believe. Our adventure begins as you board the helicopter for an exciting and scenic trip to snow bear camp for the next week. You will have the opportunity to see, photograph and experience a closeness and intimacy with grizzly bears in an icy winter setting, something seldom experienced by anyone else on our planet.

When you arrive by helicopter at our bear lodge in the mountains you realize this is the most remote place you have ever been. Although you are only a few kilometres from the arctic circle the towering spruce forest is testimony to both the unique underground water hydrology and nitrogen rich forest a result of the salmon - grizzly bear relationship. The camp is situated only 40 meters from the river and consists of 3 cabins for the guides and guests plus a main building serving as a kitchen, dining and social area. 3 meals are served each day along with complementary dinner wine and appetizers. There is a shower facility, and very clean outhouses. You are in the middle of an ecological reserve where no human impacts to the flora and fauna is allowed. There are only 4 guests and the two support staff allowed on site at any given time making the experience very exclusive.
